O008 The effect of flow limited breathing and endotypes on night to night variability of sleep apnoea severity

چکیده
Abstract Background Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a condition involving repetitive collapse of the upper airway during sleep. The diagnosis and characterisation OSA based primarily off apnoea-hypopnoea index (AHI) in single-night study. Recent data have demonstrated night to variability (NNV) severity. Knowledge which patients more variable would improve long-term risk stratification management. However, patient polysomnographic characteristics associated with high NNV not been completely explored. This study aims determine whether pattern flow limited breathing (FLB) underlying endotypes are predictive those Methods 71 were identified from placebo arm randomized controlled trials testing novel interventions. Each had undergone two studies. Patient characteristics, medical history both studies accessed. Sleep processed using established algorithms quantify degree FLB as well endotypes. Differences between each analysed for agreement, change severity OSA. Progress date Ethics approval has obtained statistical analysis. Intended outcome impact It expected that will be mild moderate OSA, across multiple nights help predict compared stable disease.

Night-to-night variability in obstructive sleep apnea severity: relationship to overnight rostral fluid shift.
STUDY OBJECTIVES Overnight rostral fluid shift from the legs to the neck may narrow the pharynx and contribute to obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) pathogenesis. We hypothesized that night-to-night changes in the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) would be associated with changes in overnight rostral fluid shift. METHODS Twenty-six patients with OSA (AHI ≥10) underwent two polysomnograms 14 days apart wi...

The current study investigated the night-to-night variability and diagnostic accuracy of the oxygen desaturation index (ODI), as measured by ambulatory monitoring, in the diagnosis of mild and moderate obstructive sleep apnoea-hypopnoea syndrome. To assess the variability of the ODI, 35 patients were monitored at home during 7 consecutive nights by means of a portable recording device, the MESA...

Background: Preterm birth and admission to neonatal intensive care unit as stressors can cause physiologicalinstability that may lead to prolong hospitalization and mortality. This study aimed to determine the effect of artificialnights and facilitated tucking on the physiological indices of premature infants. Methods: This randomized clinical trial was conducted on 60 preterm ...
